January 20th, 2009 was a huge day in DC and in all America. I still can't believe I lived there and witnessed it. It was the day for Barack Obama to become the 44th president of the United States of America and also become the first African-American president. I remember all my friends and generally all the people being really happy. Little did I know that it will also change my life as it was the reason that my dear host family moved to DC from Boston.
I definitely hadn't seen so many people on the streets ever before. Literally, it was crazy! Everywhere you looked you could only see people and more people. But somehow the feeling was different. I didn't feel scared or dangered by them, on the contrary, it felt safe being in the middle of the sea of people that had all come for the same reason, to witness something historical. It was rather beautiful!( with British accent).
