The past 2 weeks have been a mixture of happiness and sadness. I should start off mentioning that I am one year older again and had officially my 5th birthday abroad. It was pretty darn great as it has been for the past 5 years in US, Switzerland and Sweden alike. I had lots of cake, like A LOT, had no school, did a nose piercing (finally) and played laser tag with some friends from school. Two days later, though, our house got broken into and my laptop and camera were stolen :( That really brought me done as I had my finished homework and all the wonderful pictures of Australia there. Thank God for Facebook and this blog though, as I will be able to revive some pictures from here. Despite to the loss that day, Kate arrived to Sydney the same night. That made it all better :) She even brought me some fruit snacks!!! Yay! So the following weekend was packed with activities and exploring of the greater Sydney. We went to the Manly beach, took a ferry from Parramatta to Circular Quay, took some great pictures with the Opera House, went to Katoomba and to the Blue Mountains (which was the most beautiful place I have seen in Australia so far), saw some Sydney night life and went to a hockey came in Liverpool (Jack played :))

Last night, almost a week later, Kate and I met again in Sydney. She had been in Uluru for 5 days. I had befriended a Danish guy on the way who joined us for a lunch at the outdoor restaurant in the Opera House (fancy, I know :P) where we met another great traveller from the UK. So the four of us ended up exploring different bars in the Rocks and having beer or two. It was an unplanned day ending up to be one of the most fun nights I have had so far. 10 points for Sydney!
